(LisbethBonde,2023)

En rejse gennem drømmenes hvælvede passager..., ind i lysets korridorer..., gennem glemte døre..., mellem skumringens sorte hække..., ned ad nattens vindeltrapper..., til uendelige ørkner.

A journey through the vaulted passages of dreams... into the corridors of light..., through forgotten doors..., between the black hedges of dusk..., down the spiral staircases of the night...to infinite deserts.

This work started 31.07.1998 with an advertisement in the local paper Nuovo Molise, Campobasso, Italy, in which the citizens of the town were invited to contribute photographic material for Mette Perregaards artistic project. From the material Mette Perregaard selected both photos and a written testimony about an unfortunate explosion related to mine disposal in Campobasso, 1946.

"Thus my grandfather had laid down to rest after lunch in the little courtyard. He must have slept longer than he had reckoned with, though, and on waking he realised that he was ten minutes late for his appointment with the others on the course. It was this delay that saved his life."

Investigation work 1995

Montage of photographs and texts

Conceived, photographed and written by Mette Perregaard

Translated into English by Jacopo Benci

The detective: Since the beginning of 1995 I have been working on the case of a man who disappeared and whose last news date back to 1935. The case was entrusted to me by a person who is also unknown to me, and who gave me 60 boxes full of photographs taken in Rome. These photographs had been anonymously sent daily since 1935. I called this case “The alibi of the city. Rome 1935-1995”.
